This prize is celebrated of form continued for 20 years, and they have received it as prestigious authors as Joxerra G. Garmendia, Aitor Spider, Patxi Zubizarreta, Juan Kruz Igerabide, Kar them Linazasoro, Arrate Egaña, Joxerra Garzia Garmendia and Manu Lopez Gaseni, among others.
The Foundation SM, that summons east award from 1985, looks for to harness the creation of infantile and youthful Literature in euskera, which it foments the taste by the reading, and transmits human, social, cultural or religious values that help to construct a worthier world.
The jury, trained by the writer Patxi Zubizarreta, the literary critic and professor Xavier Etxaniz and the specialist in infantile Literature and youthful Leyre Ugalde, emphasized of Vampiria “is an original novel of vampires that maintains the interest and the intrigue throughout all the work”, and in addition “is a novel that gives a turn to the elements most characteristic of the sort of fear, playing with them but without falling in topics. All this with a style very care, worked and professional”.
Aitor Spider has taken control already of the Baporea Prize in other three occasions, in his third edition (1993) with the Loaren work bidez, in 2003 with Azken gurasoak and 2007 with Hilezkorrak.
The work will be published by Ikasmina, seal of SM for its publications in euskera, that will carry out a strong bet with a greater number of native authors, offering new Plans of Reading for the classroom and completing its supply with the launching of all the lines of text book.
Aitor Spider
It was born the 21 from December of 1963 in Legazpi. It began to write with seventeen years. During four years (1983-1987) he was professor of euskera in AEK and Udal Euskaltegia Legazpi. Also he was collaborating of cultural magazine HOTS of Legazpi during six years. Ordered and collaborating of literary magazine XUT. Translator in euskera, Castilian and esperanto. Besides writing books for children, young people and adults, he also works in the field of dictionaries and methods of Basque dialects.
Baporea prize
To this prize all the authors can appear wish who it, whenever the works that present/display adjust to the commonly accepted novel concept, and are written in euskera, are original, unpublished and they have not been awarded in no other contest, nor they correspond to authors passed away prior to the announcement of this call. Also they will have to adapt to the rest of requirements described in the bases of the Prize, that will be able to be in the section Prizes of the Web of Group SM.
